If I Only Had The Brain...

Much Love for Bill Watterson

I normally don't make them. The bottom line is that there was never I felt strongly enough to presue whole-heartedly enough to actually succeed. Last year was the closest I came. I chose to eat healthier in hopes of loosing a little weight (unimaginative, I know). But I kept it up almost all year long and watched my weight yo-yo, I was minus five pounds at least, plus a pound at most. Overall, not terribly impressive.

This year I came up with something a little more personal and quite possibly achievable.  My chief writing project as of late has been my YA Mystery and my resolution is to have a chapter ready for a review at the end of every month. Every four months I'd additionally like to have the past four chapters ready for a second review by a bigger audience.

Thus far, I've completed my second chapter, but since it was already half written I'm aiming to have Chapter 3 ready as well by the end of the month. I should probably mention that for the first time ever I'm writing off a skeleton, something I decided was rather vital to keep track of a mystery. I know what I intent to have go down in each chapter and a few odd snippets already written from different points in the story. Chapter 2 has been read over and critiqued beautifully by my chief writing companion Jodi, it simply awaits me doing something about it. After Jodi's had the first glance  my second look audience is a little more vast. I plan to use my little cousins (Grades 10 and 8) and possibly some adult-type person.

This blog will be me informally discussing my issues, problems and victories. A record of my thought processes most likely and hopefully a platform for me to get involved with the YA and cozy mystery writing communities that I follow but do so silently like a creepy stalker of sorts. (I say cozy because I am daring to write a arson/attempted murder instead of an actual murder, so there aren't any blood and guts to speak of.)

So here we go. I hope it's fun.
